Established in 1969, Taltarni is one of the founding wineries of the Pyrenees region in the state of Victoria. The picturesque 700 hectare (1,730 acres) property was selected after a search of the world’s finest wine regions. Taltarni was described by Robert Joseph as ‘one of the most beautiful vineyards on the planet’. The rolling hills, sweeping vistas, bluffs & stands of gum trees create a uniquely beautiful Australian landscape.
Taltarni Vineyards is located 225km northwest of Melbourne. The estate is well situated having the benefit of splendid exposure, a Mediterranean style climate, gravelly quartz and clay soil. At 420 meters above sea level it is perfectly adapted to the production of outstanding wines.
The fundamental philosophy of the Taltarni team is the crafting of distinctive, well-balanced premium varietal wines with a recognizable regional and estate style. The interface between vineyard and winery over recent years has seen the separation of individual parcels of fruit for the production of benchmark wines.
Taltarni's reputation was originally founded on their impressive, robust red wines. Currently two of Taltarni's premier offerings are thier sparkling Taltarni Brut and Brut Taché.
